Celtic and Rangers do battle over £500k-rated England starlet

Celtic and Rangers are among a number of top-flight clubs keeping close tabs on Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell, according to report from The Independent.

Campbell has been an integral part of Stoke City team this season, with four goals in 16 Championship games to his name for the Potters this campaign.

The 20-year-old is in red-hot form at the moment and has played an important role in the Potters’ recent resurgence under new boss Michael O’Neill, scoring three goals in his last three league matches.

However, with Campbell’s contract at the Bet365 Stadium is due to expire at the end of the season, and England u20 international has started to attract attention from a number of top-flight clubs.

The Independent claim that Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers, along with Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers, are keen on signing the striker this ongoing transfer window.

However, the report also adds that Stoke City are hopeful that they can persuade the attacker to sign a new contract at the Bet365 Stadium, by making assurances over his game time.

There’s not an iota of doubt regarding the centre-forward’s – who is rated at €500,000 – having a lot of potential. He’s shown this season that he’s got what it takes to keep scoring in the Championship for Stoke and he should continue to improve and grow in confidence as he gains more experience.

Campbell could be a decent signing for any of these clubs, although none of the clubs can guaranteed him with regular first-team football, so I would say he needs to consider his options very carefully.
