Celtic to complete winger transfer: Deal could be announce in next 24 hours

Lewis Morgan’s time with Scottish side Celtic seems to be all but over now. Earlier last week, news broke out that Celtic have accepted a ‘six-figure’ bid from David Beckham’s Inter Miami club.

And now according to the Daily Mail, the winger has agreed terms with the MLS side meaning an official announcement would be given in the next couple of hours.

Morgan’s transfer to Inter Miami has been revealed to be around £300,000 – the same the club paid St Mirren for his signature two years ago.

However, Morgan never managed to live up to expectations at Parkhead and is now all set for a move to the United States, where, if deem good enough, will be have more successful first-team playing time.

Morgan made 18 appearances for Celtic this season and have only two goals to his name. He could have at least showcase some run of brilliant performance when Neil Lennon deployed him at striker in the absence of Odsonne Edouard but failed to live up to expectations.

With both Leigh Griffiths and Bayo struggling for stellar performance, he could have solidified himself as the Frenchman’s back-up, but nothing looks promising.

Morgan, however, made a couple of promising displays early on but after a lifeless performance against the Rangers in the Scottish League Cup final, the experiment to continue with him at the club came to an end.

By now it is clear that Lewis Morgan’s Celtic career is heading nowhere and a change of scenery would do him good and suit all parties involved. In the United States, he has an opportunity to make a name for himself playing in a much less competitive league.

One the other hand, Celtic have now freed up some pace in their squad for new bloods to come in order to tackle the growing threat coming from Rangers to the Premiership title this season.

The Hoops have been linked with many players this ongoing transfer window but no one has been made official yet and the latest report, however, seems promising which says Celtic are monitoring the performance of Le Havre striker Tino Kadewere.

The Zimbabwe international has been in red-hot form this season, with 17 goals in 19 games to his name for the Ligue 2 side, and he is also attracting interest from Ligue 1 duo Olympique Lyonnais and Marseille.
