Celtic who have only secured the signing of Patryk Klimala so far this transfer month, are braced for another statement signing once again of which deal looks imminent.
According to reports, Celtic scout Tosh McKinlay was spotted at Tannadice Sunday’s Scottish cup tie between Dundee United and Hibernian.
The Championship league leaders had an early test of what is in store for the, when they secure promotion back to the Premiership next season as they play host to Hibs at Tannadice.
However, as reported by Celts Are Here via Read Celtic, Hibernian were not the only travellers from the Scotland’s Premiership side.
Report claims BBC Scotland’s camera’s showed Celtic’s scout McKinlay present at the Tannadice to see the entertaining match which ended 2-2.
Given how the Daily Express have previously reported that Celtic boss Neil Lennon is planning on signing Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland this month, seeing the Hoops scout at Tannadice had immediately confirmed the club’s move for the striker’s is going to happen this month.
Shankland has been in red-hot form so this season with 22 goals and three assists in just 19 appearances across all competition to his name {Transfermarkt] for the Tannadice outfits.
However, questions will be raised over the signing of Shankland following the Klimala joining the Hoops as that will be Neil Lennon now having four options up front.
McKinlay is not just at Tannadice watching the game with an interest on what Celtic should be prepared, as they are not scheduled to play Hibs until April.
It all remains to be seen how McKinlay’s presence at Tannadice will unfolds with just 11 days of the window remaining.
