Chelsea target Edinson Cavani left out of PSG squad amid transfer uncertainty

According to Daily Express, Chelsea have been handed a transfer boost in their pursuit of Edinson Cavani after PSG boss Thomas Tuchel dropped him out of the squad for their clash against Ligue 1 side Lille this week. The 32-year-old looks to be on the verge of joining Stamford Bridge before the current transfer window closes.

The veteran striker has only featured 14 times for his current club this term, scoring five goals and making one assist, with his contract expiring at the end of this campaign. He has been on the radar of Chelsea boss Frank Lampard in this transfer window as his side attempt to bolster their forward ranks.

The Uruguayan is set to miss the Lille game for his side with Tuchel citing his future uncertainty the reason.

“Edi, this has been going on for a longer time now,” He said.

“He is no longer injured.

“We decided that he was not available because the situation is not clear.”

However, it is believed the Blues will not find it an easy signing as Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are also reportedly interested in capturing the forward’s signature, the Daily Express report further suggests.
