Done Deal: BBC confirms Celtic’s agreed £2m signing – official announcement within the next 48 hours

Absolute good feelings everywhere at Celtic Park this month following the signing of Patryk Klimala with Celtic’s return from winter break started off with a win against Partick Thistle.

According to BBC, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that a deal has been agreed for the signing of Ivorian midfielder Ismaila Soro who’s expected to arrive from Israeli club Bnei Yehuda this week.

Lennon said, according to BBC:

“We’re just waiting on the paperwork being done.

“Hopefully that can be resolved over the next few days.

“He’s strong, technically very good, quick across the ground and hungry.”

The Ivory Coast international will join Celtic this month as their second signing this ongoing transfers window in a £2m deal, following the arrival of Klimala from Jagiellonia Bialystok as mentioned above.

The signing of the Polish striker – according to reports, will serve as a backup to Odsonne Edouard at Parkhead but talks have been raised as tho what the future holds for Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths, who has three goals in 18 appearances for the club this season.

And addressing the situation, boss Lennon suggested that the former Scotland international will be at the club this month.

The Northern Irishman said:

“At the minute we have Odsonne [Edouard] and obviously Griffiths, and he is looking good.

“He’s had a good Dubai trip and he’s trained well again this week.

“I can’t comment on speculation surrounding any player, really. There has been a lot over the last few months regarding Griffiths, but he’s hungry and he wants to play and he’s made that pretty clear to me.”

Meanwhile, Lennon also confirms that two to three players will be leaving the club this month while some could be shown the exit way on loan but didn’t confirm whether back-up striker Vakoun Bayo would be among the departures.

“I can’t comment on individual players,” said Lennon, when asked about the Ivorian forward.

“But he’s had a few injuries so he’s just coming back from a long-term injury. He’s back in training now so I’ve no inclination of that whatsoever.

“We’re hoping to get a couple of deals done this week. Players will either go on loan or permanently. I haven’t got any updates for you on that aspect, but there’s maybe two or three players that will leave.”
