JUST IN: Celtic set to intensify move to sign 20-goals Hitman after “talks have been held”

Last month, we covered a report that says Scottish champions Celtic FC have been linked with a move to sign Slovenian striker Andraz Sporar.

Now, new report as from the Daily Record claims the Glasgow giants are all set to intensify their efforts to land the goalscorer this month.

If the reports are anything to go by, then the club have held talks with Sporar’s club last week and they will return to the negotiating table in the coming days.

Celtic are currently relying on Odsonne Edouard for goals upfront and they need to bring in another quality striker to add more quality and depth to their attacking units.

Their target has done well his current side so far this season and he could end up being the best thing since slice bread to Neil Lennon’s side.

Sporar has to his name 20 goals from the club 26 goals this season and with much creativity in Celtic’s midfield, he would do more.

According to reports, the 25-years-old is valued at around £5m of which Celtic should be able to afford him if that is the case.

However, the Hoops might need to accelerate their efforts if they want to sign him for a reasonable price.

Apparently, there are reports that the likes of Bristol City, Preston North-End, Middlesbrough and Dynamo Kyiv are interested in the hitman as well and Celtic should look to avoid a bidding war in the next couple of days.

Sporar without any doubts, has all the tools to succeed in the Scottish League and Celtic should look to get the deal over the line now.

He has also proven himself across Europe with six Europa League goals to his name this season.
