Celtic are reportedly on the verge of completing the signing of midfielder Ismaila Soro from Israeli top-flight club Bnei Yehuda.
The report is according to Sport1, who claims the Hoops have agreed an eye-watering £2.1million deal with the Israeli side for the midfielder.
It is believed that the 21-year-old’s move to Celtic is expected to be announced either today – Friday – or on Monday when he travels down to Glasgow to have his medicals.
Sport1 explains further that the midfielder will pen a four-and-a-half year contract at Parkhead and make the switch to the Scottish giants in the January transfer window.
Neil Lennon’s team look set to wrap up a deal for Soro as early as possible and they will hope that he can make an immediate impact in their midfield.
Celtic need some fresh faces to arrive in January to breathe new life into their season, as they are now in a real scrap with Old Firm rivals Rangers for the title this season and also have the Europa League knockouts matches ahead of them.
Ismaila Soro is a defensive midfielder that has been an ever-present figure for Bnei Yehuda’s side this season and did feature in the club’s Europa qualifying fixtures.
The Ivory Coast youngster is set to make a big step up with a move to Celtic and it will be intriguing to see if he’s ready to compete for a first-team spot immediately.
