Alan Hutton predicts Celtic to sell their star man Odsonne Edouard if a hefty £40million is offered in the summer, as per Football Insider.
The experienced right-back admitted that “£40million is very high” and that if such a bid is made then the Bhoys forward could be on his way out of Glasgow in the next transfer window.
“£40 million is very high,” the former Rangers defender told Football Insider.
“Don’t get me wrong, I think if somebody came in with a £40 million bid Celtic would bite their hand off.
“I think he’s a great player. He has all the attributes to be a top, top player. He’s very young, he scores goals, he’ll hold the ball up. He’s really got everything in the locker.
“But obviously he’ll get property tested if he goes down south. I believe he can [do well in England].
“£40 million is a very high number, but again, he’s a very good player. He really does make Celtic tick. He’s the main man.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a big offer for him in the summer.
“£40 million? I’m not so sure, that’s a very large amount, but it will be big, it will be high. It’d have to be for Celtic to sell.”
The 22-year-old Edouard joined the youth ranks of French side Paris Saint-Germain in 2011. And though he gave some promising performances for the PSG youth teams, he failed to feature in the first team and subsequently got loaned to Toulouse for the 2016-17 season.
He came to Celtic Park in 2017 on a season-long loan deal, but his performances impressed the Bhoys and they permanently signed him the following year.
The French footballer has been spectacular for the Hoops this season, scoring 23 goals and creating 17 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
