Celtic-owned Eboue Kouassi suffers knee injury in training

Celtic flop Eboue Kouassi has suffered another blow as he is struck by a knee injury in training, as per the Daily Record.

The Ivorian footballer is currently serving a loan spell with Belgian side Genk who brought him over to the Luminus Arena in January this year.

The 22-year-old remained out of the Bhoys team for nine months after he suffered a serious knee injury in 2018.

He struggled to get regular game time at Celtic Park even after his recovery, and so he subsequently got loaned to Hannes Wolf’s side with a view to re-ignite his career.

However, the young midfielder has now suffered one more setback as he has been hit by another knee injury after his team-mate Theo Bongonda landed awkwardly on him in training.

He has only featured five minutes for the Belgian side since his January move, earning a substitute appearance in the Smurfs’ 1-0 victory over Charleroi.

The report further claims that he is expected to recover after around a month out of action.

The Ivorian player joined the youth ranks of Russian side Krasnodar in 2014 before he went on to make 19 league appearances for them.

He came to Celtic Park in 2017 and made 22 appearances across all competitions, with only one assist to his name.

The defending Champions Genk are currently placed sixth at the league table after winning 11 matches and losing nine.
