According to The Sun, Chelsea have joined Manchester United in the transfer race for the Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The teenage whizz-kid is reportedly being watched by many top European clubs, including Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However, the race for Bellingham’s signature is believed to be amongst the two Premier League outfits, with the English heavyweights prepared to splash a mind-boggling £50m for signing the wonder kid.
The 16-year-old joined the youth ranks of Birmingham City as an under-8 and then progressed through its ranks to make his senior debut in August 2019, thus becoming the youngest ever first-team player for his club.
At such a young age, the talented star has earned 31 total appearances for the Blues, scoring 4 goals and making 3 assists.
The newspaper further claims that the pursuit of the England international would not affect both clubs’ transfer plans to land Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho.
Meanwhile, the fortunes of both clubs are currently very different in the league, with Frank Lampard’s side entertaining very realistic hopes for securing Champions League qualification by the end of this season.
While the Red Devils are six points behind the Blues and are currently placed eighth at the Premier League table. Both teams will lock horns with each other in their next league encounter at Stamford Bridge.
