Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard has revealed his future ambition, claiming that he wants to become the best striker in business, as per the Daily Record.
He is regarded as one of the quieter figures in the Hoops dressing room, but his latest statement showed that he is very direct and bold when it comes to expressing his lofty ambitions.
The French footballer started his career with Paris Saint-Germain by joining their academy in 2011. He showed glimpses of good performances for the youth teams of the French club but failed to break into their senior team.
And after spending a loan spell at Toulouse, he joined the Bhoys in 2017, initially on a loan deal which later became permanent.
The 22-year-old has made 54 appearances for the Bhoys so far, scoring 35 goals.
He has been impressive for Neil Lennon’s side this season, with 23 goals and 16 assists to his name in 37 total appearances.
Edouard was quoted saying by the Daily Record:
“I would like to become the best striker in the world. That’s it.”
“One of the best strikers anyway. I don’t know when that will happen.
“I live day to day and I enjoy my life. We will see in time. We will see.
“There are a lot of strikers I like. I don’t have one specific striker at the moment that I admire the most.
“But Ronaldo – the Brazilian one – is the best.
“In the present moment I watch a lot of different strikers and I try to learn from them.
“I am still young, so I am training a lot and every year I become more mature as a player.
“I work hard on all aspects of my game all the time, so everything is improving.”
