Newcastle United are interested in signing Brentford player Said Benrahma after they failed to land Jarrod Bowen in the January transfer window, according to Shields Gazette.
The Magpies wanted to bring former Hull City star Jarrod Bowen to bolster their forward ranks after seeing his sparkling form in the English Championship. However, they lost the transfer race for the striker to West Ham United on the final day of the January window.
It is believed that Steve Bruce’s side have now turned their attention to the Algerian footballer Benrahma who has also been linked with a host of other Premier League clubs.
But it looks unlikely they will secure his transfer easily as Arsenal and Leicester City are also said to be interested in capturing the 24-year-old’s signature.
The talented winger has been performing spectacularly for the Bees this season, scoring 8 goals and creating 5 assists in 27 matches.
He came to Griffin Park in 2018 and impressed everyone with his performances, notching 19 goals in 72 appearances across all competitions.
Newcastle are in need of a quality striker with their record signing Joelinton currently failing to fire for the club.
However, they are currently doing well in the Premier League, having climbed well above the relegation zone. They are placed 12th at the table after registering 8 victories and earning 7 draws.
The Toon will face Arsenal in their next league match at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
