Everton enter transfer race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard

Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard has been linked with several clubs recently, but now a Daily Mail report suggests Everton are also interested to sign the 22-year-old.

The France U21 international has been spectacular for the Bhoys this season, scoring 20 goals and creating 11 assists in 26 league matches.

He started his career at AF Bobigny and later joined PSG in 2011 before being loaned to French side Toulouse.

The talented forward initially joined the Hoops on a season-long loan deal in 2017, which was later made permanent for a club-record fee.

So far, he has earned 125 appearances for Lennon’s side with 59 goals and 30 assists to his name.

His amazing performances in Scotland have sparked interest from Tottenham and Leicester City, but now Everton have also joined the race for the striker to bring more goals to their team next season.

The Toffees have in their rank the likes Dom Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean, Richarlison and Oumar Niasse as options up top. However, the latter is likely to leave, while Richarlison is naturally a winger. Kean has managed just one Everton goal since his move from Juventus.

The Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti wanted to sign Edouard when he was in charge of Napoli, and now the 60-year-old manager has another opportunity to land the French footballer.

However, the Premier League outfit would have to splash a big amount to bring him to Goodison Park as Celtic look determined to keep hold of their star player.
