West Brom enter the race to sign Rangers star Alfredo Morelos

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wants to keep his star player Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox this summer, but it is becoming increasingly difficult for him as suitors from around Europe are interested in securing the striker’s services.

According to the Daily Record, the newly promoted West Brom have entered the race to sign the 24-year-old this summer.

The Baggies failed to hire the talented forward last summer, but now they are ready to try again.

The report suggests that the French side Lille are also preparing to make a £17 million offer to snap up the Colombian footballer, after they were told to bring over £15 million offer for him.

Slaven Bilic’s side have recently received their promotion financial boost and so they could also match any offer for the striker.

The 24-year-old has been playing an important role for the Gers, with the Colombia international scoring 29 goals in 46 appearances this season. So far, he has made 137 appearances for the Scottish club, scoring 77 goals and creating 29 assists.

However, even Rangers will find it difficult to reject a £17 million transfer offer.

And now that the English club has also joined the transfer race, it has become more likely that Morelos will leave Glasgow this summer.
