Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic has sent a message on social media after the club secured Premier League promotion on Tuesday evening, as per Football League World.
The 25-year-old was spectacular last season, racking up 40 league appearances and scoring 26 goals for the team.
His brilliant form saw him claiming the Championship’s golden boot which was won by Teemu Pukki last year.
Mitrovic took to Instagram on Saturday and expressed his feelings in these words:
“It took a couple of days for everything to settle down. But what a night for all of us for all the people who love fulham, amazing … now we are back where this club belongs and that is the @premierleague.”
After outclassing Cardiff in the semi-finals, the Cottagers looked the underdogs against Brentford who had defeated them twice that campaign.
However, Scott Parker employed some great tactics to contain the attacking threat of the opposition.
Surprisingly, Joe Bryan netted two goals in extra-time to put his side 2-0 ahead before Henrik Dalsgaard managed to get a consolation for the Bees at the very end.
The Lilywhites will be hoping to stay in the top-flight a little longer than the last time. In 2018, they defeated Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final to earn promotion, but stayed just one season in the top-tier and got relegated after managing to secure just 26 points.
Now that Fulham have secured promotion, they can be confident that the Serbia international will not be going anywhere and they can avail his services for the next campaign too. They will be hoping that the striker continues that form in the top division too.
