Barcelona star Lionel Messi is said to be disappointed after his team suffered a humiliating 8-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in the European quarter-final and is now considering his future with the La Liga side.
The 33-year-old was linked with European heavyweights Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain as soon as the forward hinted spending the remainder of his career somewhere else.
Now Chelsea and Inter Milan have also joined the transfer race for the football superstar, as per TimesNowNews.
Frank Lampard’s side have been very active in the transfer market this summer, with the club already signing Hakim Ziyech (from Ajax) and Timo Werner (from RB Leipzig). They are also said to be strong candidates to hire Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and Thiago Silva from PSG.
Now seeing the current situation of Messi at Camp Nou, the London based club have become interested to hire the services of the experienced footballer.
Chelsea are said to be closely monitoring the 33-year-old and are interested to sign him if he chooses to depart Camp Nou.
Serie A giants Inter Milan are another top European club who reportedly want to sign the player. And the Ex-Inter president Massimo Moratti believes that Internazionale have already made contact with the forward.
“It’s not a simple operation economically, that’s clear. But the biggest obstacle is Messi’s intentions.
“You have to understand if he really wants to leave Barca. I’m not clear on that.”
“I imagine Inter have already tried [to sign him]. I’ve seen the Suning advert with the Argentine’s silhouette on the Duomo and this makes me think an initiative has already been taken. If not, I think they will do so soon.”
