Crystal Palace and Fulham want to sign West Ham midfielder

West Ham are considering selling their midfielder Josh Cullen this summer for a small amount, and Crystal Palace and Fulham are keen to sign him, according to The Telegraph

He hasn’t been featured for the Hammers first-team for more than two years now, however, his value has increased after spending two good loan spells for League One side Charlton Athletic.

The 24-year-old earned 66 appearances for the Addicks, scoring two goals and creating eight assists.

The same report says that the midfielder is entering the last year of his contract at the London Stadium, and so he could be sold for a low fee. Premier League rivals Fulham and the Eagles are said to be monitoring the player with a view to signing him this summer.

Given the player’s uncertain contract situation, it looks like a gamble to keep him at the club. It is not clear at this stage whether any negotiations are planned between the two parties, or whether any party is unwilling for a contract extension.

But considering the Hammers can only expect a low amount, it seems reasonable that they keep hold of him for now.

The 24-year-old’s form in the Championship suggests that he could be a good alternative in the Premier League. And the Scottish boss David Moyes currently has the options to slowly bring the player back into the fold.

Therefore, it looks worthwhile to keep the Republic of Ireland international at the London Stadium in the hope that he proves his abilities soon before penning a new deal.
