Everton want to sign Chelsea defender on loan

Everton want to hire the services of Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori on loan this summer, according to The Telegraph

Carlo Ancelotti’s side need to bolster their defensive ranks ahead of the next campaign, with the Premier League side conceding 56 league goals last season.

The report claims that the Toffees are eying a move for the 22-year-old, however, it remains to be seen whether Frank Lampard allows the player to leave Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis.

French side Rennes are also interested to sign the defender, but it looks that the Blues have an advantage because they hired Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea in 2018.

The French footballer had a successful loan spell at Goodison Park, so it is possible that the Pensioners may keep that in mind when they are making a decision about the 22-year-old.

Tomori could be a shrewd signing for the Toffees if they manage to secure his services this summer. His passing is good, he has got speed and he is very comfortable on the ball.

However, the temporary hiring of the England international does not seem to solve their problems in the long-term.

They missed out on Zouma’s permanent signing last year. And it will be just as frustrating for the fans if the French player joins the club and performs spectacularly before going back to Stamford Bridge.
