Leeds United are getting closer to signing the Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth this summer, as per TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Peacocks are willing to meet the Spurs asking price which is said to be £15million.
The 22-year-old has earned 32 appearances for the London club since he joined them from Estudiantes in 2017 when Mauricio Pochettino was at the helm of affairs. Since the Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho took charge, he has struggled to get more game time.
Under Mourinho’s reign, the defender has made only one Premier League start with two total appearances to his name.
He is likely to depart the Premier League outfit this summer, with the Whites and some other Serie A clubs interested to hire his services.
The report from the Italian outlet claims that Leeds are close to getting the player’s signature, with the West Yorkshire side ready to pay the Spurs asking fee of £15million.
The Whites have not made any big signing yet, but they are looking to bolster their ranks for playing in the Premier League next season.
After 16-years wait, they finally managed to secure promotion to the top-flight after finishing at the top of the Championship table.
Ben White’s recent social media post proves that his return to Yorkshire is unlikely and he is expected to stay at Brighton.
Foyth seems a good replacement for the ball-playing defender.
The Argentine footballer has made many mistakes during his time in London, but considering his age, there is a lot of room for improvement and Marcelo Bielsa is famous for developing skills of his players.
