Leeds United have made an enquiry for Romanian footballer Nicolae Stanciu with the Whites wanting to hire four or five players this summer, as per the Daily Mail.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are yet to make a big signing this window, even though they have been linked with a lot of footballers.
They are currently in the market to bolster their squad as they will be playing in the Premier League in the coming season following a 16-years wait.
The West Yorkshire side have made contact with Slavia Prague regarding a transfer for the 27-year-old, and as per the report, the Whites would have to part with £7 million if they want to get the signature of the player.
The Romania international was spectacular for his club last season, scoring four league goals and creating 12 assists in all competitions. He was also part of the Red-And-Whites’ Champions League campaign, playing all six group matches for them. Considering Stanciu’s brilliant form last campaign, £7 million looks a good piece of business.
Some may worry whether the 27-year-old can maintain that brilliant form in England, but they should take some reassurances from Tomas Soucek who was Stanciu’s former teammate.
Soucek joined West Ham on a loan deal in January 2020, and impressed everyone with his performances in that short spell, racking up 13 league appearances and getting on the scoresheet three times. Now the Hammers have signed him permanently, offering him a four-year contract.
