Manchester City star David Silva has posted a poignant goodbye image after playing his last match at the Etihad on Friday, as per The Sun.
The Spaniard, who will leave City this month, featured as a late substitute in his side 2-1 victory against Real Madrid at the Etihad stadium.
Even though he could still play for his team this campaign with the Premier League outfit to clash Lyon in the quarter-final of the Champions League, he will not get to play again at the Etihad, because the remaining European fixtures will take place in Lisbon.
Silva is a world-class player who has won four Premier League titles, five League Cups and two FA Cups with City. He made over 400 appearances for the Manchester club, scoring 77 goals and creating 140 assists. However, the Champions League trophy eluded him during his time at the club.
After helping his side defeat Los Blancos and proceed to the next round, the player took to Instagram and posted an image that showed him standing inside the club’s stadium looking out at the pitch and the stands.
He also spent six years of his professional career with Valencia, racking up 166 appearances across all competitions and scoring 31 goals.
During that time, he was part of the Bats’ team that won the 2008 Copa del Rey, defeating Getafe 3-1 in the final match.
