Football superstar Neymar has long been linked with a move to Barcelona, however, he has said that he wants to remain at PSG this summer, according to Goal.com.
He also expressed his desire to return to the Champions League final with the French champions as soon as possible.
The Ligue 1 side paid a world record €222 million transfer fee to bring the Brazilian to Paris from Barcelona in 2017.
The 28-year-old joined the Catalans from Santos and became one of the best footballers in the world at Camp Nou. However, the Brazilian has struggled to meet the high expectations during his first two seasons at the Parc des Princes.
And last summer, he even sought to make a return to Barca after getting a ban for fighting with a fan following Les Parisiens’ defeat at the hands of Rennes in the 2019 Coupe de France final.
However, the La Liga giants ultimately decided not to bring him back to Spain, and Neymar has since been concentrating to do well in Paris.
The winger smashed 19 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side last campaign as PSG won four domestic trophies and made it to the final of the Champions League.
He found himself on the scoresheet in both Round of 16 matches against Borussia Dortmund, and he also gave excellent performances against Atalanta and RB Leipzig but failed to achieve European glory in the end.
Rumours suggested that the Brazil international might try for a transfer move once again, but he has now confirmed that he has no intention of leaving the Paris based club.
“I am staying at PSG next season,” He said to PSG Le Mag. “I remain and with the ambition to return to the final of the Champions League, this time to win it. I like this idea of doing everything to leave my name in the history books of my club.”
