Rangers have joined Leeds United in the race to hire KAA Gent player Milad Mohammadi, as per Football League World.
It was recently reported by Football Insider that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are interested in securing the defender’s signature who is available for around £6.3 million, but now the Scottish side have also joined the Whites in pursuit of the player.
The 26-year-old has made 34 appearances for the Iran national team and can boast experience of playing for Akhmat Grozny, the Russian football club who compete in the country’s top division.
He joined the Buffalos in July 2019 and has so far made 18 appearances for the club this season, scoring a goal and creating two assists.
He was also a regular member of the team during the Belgian side’s Europa League campaign, with the Iranian footballer racking up four matches in the elite competition.
Leeds are scouring the market to bolster their squad for playing in the Premier League next campaign, however, they have not made any marquee signing so far.
Mohammadi is a versatile player who impressed everyone in Belgium with his good performances and he seems a good fit for the West Yorkshire side.
The Whites look in need of a good left-back as Barry Douglas’ age has crossed 30 years while Gjanni Alioski plays better further forward.
