According to Sky Sports. Blaise Matuidi has signed for Inter Miami – the MLS side co-owned by his former team-mate David Beckham – after leaving Juventus. The 33-year-old midfielder left the Serie A champions this month after three years in Turin.
However, Matuidi will not be the only player leaving the club this summer with the Italian giants Juventus look set to move two more experienced players this summer.
According to Goal.com, Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira have been told to exit the club this summer with both players not part of the plans of new boss Andrea Pirlo.
With Pirlo replacing Maurizio Sarri in the duquot – just nine days after he was given the club’s under-23s job – the Black and Whites are up against the clock as they have to work out a transfer strategy ahead of their 2020-21 campaign.
The former Italy international was appointed the new manager following a disappointing end to their European campaign at the hands of Olympique Lyonnais.
Cristiano Ronaldo struck two goals but couldn’t save his side from an early Champions League elimination as Rudi Garcia’s side won the Round of 16 on away goals.
Despite winning their ninth consecutive league title, the previous season was relatively poor by the standards of the club, and the 41-year-old coach now looks set to make big changes in the squad to get a better result next campaign.
Matuidi was a regular member of the team under Sarri, but the midfielder’s contract was cancelled by mutual consent this week and he signed for MLS side Inter Miami today on a free transfer.
Now experienced players Higuain and Khedira have been told to leave the Turin based club with their services no longer needed.
Both players are currently on substantial wages and have contracts until 2021, but Juventus are looking to move them from the Allianz Arena this summer.
