Bjorn Engels, who joined Aston Villa in the summer of 2019, is reportedly on the radar of Anderlecht.
According to Walfoot, the Belgian side is interested to hire the services of the central defender on a loan deal.
The 26-year-old struggled to make an impact in his first Premier League season following his arrival from Reims. He failed to secure a regular starting spot in the team, with injury issues limiting his game time to just 17 league appearances.
And now other defenders Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa and Kortney Hause are ahead of him in the pecking order at Villa Park.
The report further says that the English side are not interested to let the Belgian footballer leave on loan, rather they are keen to sell the player.
It looks that Villa are making a wrong decision if they are already entertaining interest in the 26-year-old.
Engels made a promising start for the club shortly after his arrival and showed glimpses of his real quality.
Perhaps it might be better if they keep hold of him a little longer and then evaluate the situation again in January.
Letting him leave after just one season doesn’t seem a good decision as he showed many promising signs in the beginning of the campaign.
