Aston Villa could potentially target Josh King this summer

Aston Villa couldn’t land Callum Wilson and now they could potentially shift their focus on signing Bournemouth player Josh King, according to the Express and Star.

The Lions are still looking to strengthen their forward ranks this summer.

The report says that Dean Smith’s side recently had made a £21 million offer for Wilson, but they couldn’t sign the player as he wanted to move to Newcastle. And now there is no hope left for Villa as the England international has completed his transfer to St James’ Park.

They have now reportedly turned their attention to signing other players. The Express and Star report says that they have Ollie Watkins on their radar while King could also attract their attention.

Like Callum, the Norwegian footballer has been linked with a move away from the Cherries this summer.

The forward has made 161 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth, scoring 48 goals and creating 15 assists.

The Championship side are reportedly not interested to consider bids less than £25 million for the Norway international (as per The Sun). This means that Aston Villa will have to be prepared to pay a hefty amount if they wish to bring the player to Villa Park.

Joshua is a versatile footballer who can perform a number of roles across the forward line.

It will be interesting to see whether Dean Smith’s side comes up with a bid for the Norway international in the coming weeks.
