Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign Sergio Reguilon who has also sparked interest from Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid, and it looks that he is on his way to the Premier League.
The Mail report says that the Red Devils and Spurs are leading the race for the Spaniard, and it is suggested that Real are keen to offload the player as they already have a lot of options in that area of the pitch.
It has also been suggested that discussions over the left-back’s future are expected to accelerate this week. He is said to be available for around £25 million.
Reguilon is an academy product of Real Madrid and so far has clocked up 22 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish giants. He can also boast of loan spells at Logrones and Sevilla.
Jose Mourinho may be under extra pressure after his side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Everton in the opening match of the Premier League. And hiring someone like Sergio would represent a good response from the Portuguese manager.
He has the experience of playing at the top level, plus he is young and could be developed further in the coming years.
Though Spurs have plenty of options at left-back, it would look like a missed opportunity for many supporters if the talented player signs for some other club.
