Ryan Fraser agrees terms with Newcastle United

Newcastle United are close to signing Ryan Fraser this summer as they have reportedly agreed terms with the player. According to Sky Sports, the 26-year-old will undergo his medical on Monday.

Steve Bruce’s side will not have to pay any transfer fee as the Scotland international departed Bournemouth after his contract expired this summer.

West Ham and Crystal Palace were said to be interested in hiring his services, but the former Aberdeen player opted to move to the St James’ Park after talking with Bruce.

This report came after the news that the Magpies had made a successful £20 million bid for the winger’s former teammate Callum Wilson, who is now also set to undergo his medical at the club tomorrow.

Fraser joined the Cherries in January 2013 and really attracted the attention of everyone in the 2018-19 campaign when he netted eight goals and created 15 assists in 42 appearances. He earned 208 appearances in all competitions at the Vitality Stadium, scoring 24 goals and creating 33 assists.

The Tyneside club signing both Ryan and Wilson for £20 million looks to be some great transfer business. Both players can boast plenty of experience at the top level and have been giving excellent performances for the Cherries over the previous few years.

They could certainly bring some improvements in the Newcastle team, and the supporters will be hoping to get some good combination play which the duo have been exhibiting at Bournemouth.
