Spartak Moscow confident of landing Tottenham player Serge Aurier

According to Sky Sports, Spartak Moscow are confident of hiring the services of Tottenham player Serge Aurier, with the north London side open to transfer business regarding the Ivorian footballer.

The 27-year-old hasn’t played a single minute for Spurs this campaign with the club signing Matt Doherty from Wolves. He was part of the squad in both league matches but remained an unused substitute.

The right-back could play against Leyton Orient in the EFL Cup, with Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho confirming Dele Alli will play in that Carabao Cup fixture.

The defender’s current contract with the Londoners is set to expire in the summer of 2022.

Though he remained strongly linked with a move to AC Milan this summer, the Russian side are now confident of reaching an agreement for his services.

The report claims that Tottenham are open to selling the right-back, while the player himself is keen to make the move as he believes his game time will be reduced following the arrival of Doherty.

However, Spartak don’t seem to be a great destination for the former PSG player as Domenico Tedesco’s side finished seventh at the Russian Premier League table in what was a disappointing season for the club.

It looks that the defender should hold out for a move to the Serie A, and if the Rossoneri are still interested to hire his services, then it makes more sense to wait for them rather than move to Russia.
