Tottenham ahead of Manchester United in the transfer race for Gareth Bale’s signature

Premier League giants Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested to sign Gareth Bale, but according to a report from the ESPN, the London side have moved ahead of the Red Devils in the race for the Welshman signature.

The report says that United’s main target is Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho and they see the Real Madrid winger only as a back-up option should they fail to land the 20-year-old.

It looks that the Wales international is aware of the Red Devils’ interest in him, but knows their main target is Sancho. Therefore, instead of risking another failed move, he is ready to re-join Spurs.

It is understood that any potential move for the Welshman would be a loan, with Los Blancos paying half of his weekly wages.

Bale, who is greatly unpopular in the Spanish press, has rarely been featured by Zinedine Zidane these days, despite his very high wages.

Tottenham, who suffered a disappointing defeat against Everton in the Premier League opener, will get a boost from this latest development.

Re-signing the 31-year-old would be big news for the Spurs supporters, and though he’s had his injury issues, it looks Gareth is very eager to get regular football again.

Having a player like him in the dressing room could have a big impact on the team.
