Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has said that he is confident the club will sign a new striker before the transfer window closes, according to the Daily Mail.
The London side have been busy in this window, bringing several new faces to Tottenham which include Matt Doherty from Wolves and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
However, hiring a new striker for the support of Harry Kane still remains to be done. But the Portuguese boss, who spoke to the media recently, is confident the club will sign a new striker soon.
He said:
“I want to make it very clear that the club – if you want to call it the club or the structure above me – knows I need a striker and they also want a striker.
‘I believe we will get a striker, I honestly believe so.”
Spurs have been linked with many good strikers in the last few weeks. Arkadiusz Milik, who is currently playing for Napoli, has been a very prominent name this summer while the Red Bull Salzburg player Patson Daka has also been mentioned.
The Lilywhites have been lacking another good striker for a few years now so it is justified that the manager is asking the board to bring a new forward for bolstering their attacking ranks.
Kane has been brilliant for the English side, however, he needs some support in the team. Additionally, the English player’s injury record hasn’t been very good either.
Spurs fans will be hoping that Mourinho gets his man and their side manages to do well this season and finish in the top four by the end of the campaign.
