It looks Tottenham Hotspur may shift their focus to signing Hellas Verona player Marash Kumbulla this summer.
According to Corriere di Verona, Spurs are ready to make a transfer move for the 20-year-old as Inter Milan’s interest in the player lessens.
The report says that the Premier League club now have a strong interest in the player who has formerly been linked with the London side.
Previously, it looked almost certain that Inter would hire the defender. Gianluca Di Marzio even reported that the player was ready to join the Serie A side with the agreement between the two clubs on transfer fee (€30 million) remaining.
However, it is understood now that the Italian club are not interested in completing the deal as they want to pursue cheaper options.
Jose Mourinho’s side are scouring the market for a new centre-back and they have identified Kumbulla as a perfect fit.
He is strong and powerful, technically gifted and young, and so looks to be a good signing for them.
To raise the required funds, they will have to offload some players, but the young footballer looks worth all the extra effort.
