Villareal boss Unai Emery wants to sign Juan Foyth this summer but it looks the London side are reluctant to do transfer business.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Tottenham Hotspur are not eager to sell the 22-year-old permanently this summer.
Foyth struggled for game time last season, making only four Premier League appearances. The Argentine footballer hasn’t made a single appearance for Spurs in 2020.
However, the AS claims that the English side are unwilling to let the young player exit the club permanently this summer.
The report says that the Spanish side Villarreal have made the former Estudiantes player their top target. And though the Lilywhites are not planning to sell the defender, it is suggested that Jose Mourinho’s stand could have an effect if the Portuguese boss says the player is not part of his plans.
No doubt, the London side may find it difficult to refuse a big offer for the Argentina international. If he is not going to get opportunities in the first team once again, it looks justified to let him leave the club. A loan move looks a good option for the Premier League side.
Juan has a lot of potential, and he has shown glimpses of his quality to the Tottenham supporters since he joined the club in 2017.
The 22-year-old may learn a lot after getting regular football action in Spain. And Spurs may benefit in the long-term if they decide to let him leave on a temporary basis.
It remains to be seen whether the Yellow Submarine will be interested to sign the player on a loan deal.
