Erik ten Hag completes his Manchester United interview

Ten Hag and former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino were running neck and neck.

However, following weeks of putting up dossiers, the club now believes that Dutchman Ten Hag can be the manager for at least the next five years – and return United to the top of English and European football.

United want to make an announcement before the conclusion of the season so that the new manager can go right to work ahead of a key summer of recruitment.

Because of the instability at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel emerged as a surprise new candidate for the post.

However, United is concerned that a prospective buyout that would retain the German coach at Stamford Bridge would last all summer.

They would be left waiting and eventually disappointed if this were to happen.

Fabrizio Romano, the well-known Italian journalist, verified this development and also claimed that Manchester United would evaluate other variables and interview other potential candidates for the position of head coach.

According to the Daily Mail, the 52-year-old spoke with United on Monday, and the Dutchman is now considered the overwhelming favorite to take over as manager in the summer.

Ten Hag has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and was even turned down by Tottenham last summer.

The Dutchman was interviewed to be Jose Mourinho’s replacement at Spurs, but they claimed he lacked charm, despite the fact that things haven’t gone too terribly for them now that Antonio Conte is in control.

Tottenham’s loss might be United’s gain, and Ten Hag has been taking advanced English lessons since his summer rebuff.

Following his Tottenham rejection, Ten Hag appeared to make a U-turn on his future by signing a new contract with Ajax, but a year later he appears to want out, and United may have identified him as their man.

The Dutchman is presently leading Ajax to another league victory, although the club was also eliminated from the Champions League at the same level as United.

As previously said, reports of Tuchel’s appointment have begun to circulate, but United are anxious to announce their next manager as quickly as possible, and the German is content to ride out the uncertainty at Chelsea.

It’s also a setback for Pochettino, who is on the verge of losing his job at Paris Saint-Germain.

Due to his past Premier League experience and ties to England, the former Tottenham and Southampton manager was a leading possibility, but United may take a gamble with Ten Hag.

The Dutchman has only worked outside of the country once, during a two-year stay with Bayern Munich’s reserve team!
