Barcelona give Dutchman ultimatum

Barcelona is interested in Manchester United’s Elanga and McTominay duo in a potential deal for Frenkie de Jong. Negotiations are reportedly tense, although Barcelona will make another attempt to persuade Frenkie de Jong to accept Manchester United’s offer. Manchester United have agreed to an €85m (€71.7m) deal with Barcelona for De Jong, while Chelsea is unwilling to match the offer. It probably refers to Manchester United. Manchester United worked for weeks on a deal, culminating in an €85m deal with Barcelona, including variables. Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is also set to receive a pay rise if he stays at Barcelona after the summer transfer window, meaning he is determined to stay with Spanish giants heavyweight FC Barcelona for his good. Manchester United are interested in Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong this summer, and Eric Ten Haag is looking for a good deal for him.

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag has no secret about his desire to be reunited with compatriot Frenkie de Jong at Old Trafford. Still, the 25-year-old is believed to intend to stay at Camp Nou despite Barcelona being ready to sell the Dutchman.  FC Barcelona wants to Balance its finances and earn a high income from its departure. FC Barcelona has been very active in the recent transfer window. It has signed players like Raphinha from Leeds United, Andreas Christensen from Chelsea, Franck Kessie from AC Milan and the leading man in front of goal Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, FC Barcelona has issued an ultimatum to Frenkie de Jong to resolve the issue by the end of the week or turn their attention to other goals, according to Sport. But according to Cope, Barcelona clarified to De Jong’s agent that Frenkie de Jong must accept a pay cut or agree to leave Barcelona. The main issue is Barcelona’s wages, which he still owes Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong about £17m in deferred salaries and bonuses amid the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it is understood that Manchester United‘s offer will not cover the income loss. But Barcelona is commanding that if they want the services of their midfield player, United should include that amount in the transfer fee.

The new boss at Old Trafford wants the Dutch midfielder desperately as he fits in his team perfectly. De Jong is the kind of midfielder that roams freely. When he has possession, he tries to make attacking runs, dribble past defenders, and identify space forward; plus, his ball control at a high pace is on another level. He may not be the physically most vital player, but he can cover many areas on the ground.
