Throwback 2012: #Pen4Ken Leeds Fans Post Pens To Ken Bates

Leeds United fans have created a unique protest against Ken Bates’ alleged stalling on the proposed takeover negotiations, by posting pens to both Elland Road and Ken’s home Monaco in the hope he uses them to sign the required contractual documents. The hashtag #Pen4ken has been trending on Twitter today with numerous Leeds fans posting pictures of their letters to Ken Bates, with an attached selection of pens.
With the transfer window closing in on us quickly, Leeds are desperate to push through the takeover to provide Warnock with the much-needed finances to complete his squad. Warnock stated earlier this week his current squad has ‘not a cat in hell’s chance’ of promotion and expressed his desire to sign another 3-4 top quality signings.  But as things currently stand Leeds can’t afford anyone except emergency loans, a market Warnock does not have faith in.
At Flaminghairdryer we will be posting our pen to Ken tomorrow morning with our attached poster. I can’t imagine Ken Bates seeing the funny side of Leeds fans’ protests, however the pens may come in useful at the Elland Road hotel reception desk in the future.
